Slaton color and kudos to American Mullet Options

Thanks for the updates. I think you do a great job. Can you update the Slaton thread when you have a chance, I know you've gone from being really down on the injury to revising that based on add'l information you've rec'd on the improvements in the quality of today's neck fusion surgeries. He was undraftable to me a few months ago, but with your opinion change he's entered my draft board and is sliding up a little at a time. -American Mullet BFD subscriber

Chris's View: First, Thanks for the kind words. To update Slaton, here is my take. At one point I thought it would be impossible for him to even be in camp based on the procedure. However, with the technology in orthopedics, it is now a possibility for him to give it a go. That said, I still only consider him a bench filler long shot. He basically has to avoid getting hit in the head and/or jaring his neck to siginificantly. At his position and sport, that seems unlikely. I will let someone else take him way too early and gain the implied value as a result. I am sticking to my prediction for him, that he is only a 50/50 chance to make it through preseason (and that is high because they may not play him much); and he has a 30% shot to make it through the season. I see him taking a good shot, having issues and retiring soon after.
